Concrete Skip Bucket
These buckets were initially designed by especially for use during the construction of the New Delhi Metro. A senior engineer of a French firm wanted such a bucket for handling concrete in such a way that the concrete could be specifically discharged at a particular spot of his choosing. This bucket has a hatch at the bottom which is actuated hydraulically, and opens when the forklift operator has placed the bucket exactly over the spot where the discharge is required. Note the hollow square tubes at the bottom where the forks of the forklift truck engage the bucket. Manual versions are also available where the hatch can be opened by means of a hand operated rack arrangement.
This skip bucket has a capacity of only 500 litres. It has a hydraulically operated shute whose cylinder is actuated from the cabin of the forklift. The fork tines engage the base of the bucket which is made of rectangular hollow sections which also provide strength and stability to the equipment. Made for JCB India (2018)
